Harmonising our activities
At Galaxidi Marine Farm we operate in compliance to high standards in “Environmental Management and Preservation of Biodiversity”, harmonising our activities with the current Legislation and International Standards. In addition, we operate with respect to the environment, taking into account the sustainable management of available terrestrial and aquatic resources.
Focused on continuous improvement we allocate sufficient resources in order to achieve our environmental goals :
• Proper and continuous training of employees on environmental aspects
• Measurement and monitoring of environmental parameters and indicators in collaboration with accredited laboratories, universities and research institutes, in order to identify unforeseen adverse effects in due time and take appropriate corrective action
• Prevention measures to limit possible escapes
• Promotion of recycling (plastic, wood, metal, paper, oils, batteries, animal by-products etc.)
• Use of alternative energy sources
• Continuous aesthetic upgrading of land facilities (e.g. tree planting)
• Collaboration with third parties to achieve common environmental objectives
• Organizing & cooperating in voluntary environmental actions
OUR WELFARE GUIDE
As part of our commitment to responsible and sustainable aquaculture, we operate in full alignment with the principles and best practices outlined in the “Mediterranean Fish Welfare: Guide to Good Practices and Assessment Indicators” developed by HAPO. The Guide has been officially approved by the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food and serves as a key reference framework for our fish welfare approach.

Ensuring the health and welfare of our fish is a strategic priority across our operations.
Our Fish Health and Welfare Policy establishes the governance framework, standards, and procedures for veterinary oversight, vaccination programs, and the responsible management of veterinary medicines throughout the entire production lifecycle.
